Long associated with brother William as a "seedsman," C. B. Strong had his own company by the time this photo of his display at the 1895 California State Fair was taken. Specializing in flower and garden seeds and offering full floral service for all occasions distanced the brother's businesses but often placed C. B.'s product in the house and garden while W. R.'s seed and trees filled in the fields and orchards.
