J. N. Blair was a man with drive. According to the Sacramento City Directories, he worked for Wm. Knight's butcher supply business and Front and L Streets in 1887 and by 1900 he was president of Capital Soap and vice president of Knight's. When this "Want-Order Book" was making its rounds among customers J. N. had owned the business for a score of years, rendering unto Sacramento a service his company would provide throughout the 1930's. The truck featured on the cover of this order book appears to be a Mack, first manufactured in 1911 and still in use today.
