Published in time for Christmas 1913, the SOUVENIR SACRAMENTO FIRE DEPARTMENT book is a 120-page treasure trove of facts, photos and advertisements. Engine Co. No. 2 no longer rushes to action from this spot on Tenth Street in downtown Sacramento - it's now a multi-story parking structure. While those wonderful machines may now be scrap or beyond and those brave men passed on, their legacy and tradition continue in the Capital City. The alley and the Plaza Building to the right are still in place, though the latter no longer sports the fire escapes and metal balconies that stand out in this photo.
