This undated, multifold brochure from the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce contains fifteen views and scenes of the city and the surrounding area when hotels now long-demolished were brand nerw, the city ran on electricity and horsepower and Fair Oaks and Orangevale were still farms and orchards. The Phoenix Milling Co. began life in 1853 at the corner of 13th and J Streets and despite flood, fire, catastrophe and multiple owners the business continued under that name until 1928.
