Summary
Pass issued by the Southern Pacific Company Division Superintendent and approved by command of Colonel Graham with signature of Robert McM. Dutton to allow the Sacramento Bee carrier through the strike line for delivery of the newspaper. The pass is dated July 20, 1894, the last day of the strike. The American Railway Union called for a national boycott of the use of Pullman sleeping cars June 27, 1894. Strikers took control of stations and railway yards in many California cities and greatly disrupted service. Federal troops were called up in early July to restore the flow of goods and mail.
