Things seem to come in cycles and Sacramento is no exception to that rule. The two modes of transportation prominent in this postcard (ca. 1909), so important in the first part of last century, have returned to the region with a vengeance. The light rail has become the means to get around for many residents and bicycles as recreation and commuter vehicles have never been more popular. The rails and paths for trains and cyclists already cross much of the county with new extensions in the planning stages.
