In April of 1899 the Sacramento Board of Supervisors was asked to approve the printing of 10,000 copies of a pamphlet enumerating the resources and potential of Sacramento County. This lovely booklet highlights olives and citrus fruits, high-yield cash crops of the Sacramento Valley, but goes into detail about the many other kinds of fruit and produce the area supplies. Copies of the pamphlet were sent abroad to Europe, and in 1901 it was updated and printed again, the 10,000 copies finding their way across the country by train, mail, and real estate agent.
