The corner of 21st and R Streets in Sacramento housed the California Winery, shown here on a vintage postcard, for over 30 years under at least three different managers. The California Winery bacame the California Wine Association after Prohibition became the law of the land following World War I, and somehow managed to survive until the early 1920s, appearing in the Sacramento City Directory through the 1923 edition.
