The turn of the century sparked new growth all over the country, and the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce was no slacker in promotion. This 1902 booklet, second in a series, was printed "to show what can be done with various products upon Sacramento County soil. The subject treated will be Berry Culture, including strawberries...raspberries, blackberries, Logan berries, etc." Sixteen pages of facts, photos and maps tout Sacramento County, especially the Florin area, first home to the strawberry in 1860. The picturesque front cover, attributed to Sunset Magazine, shows a winding river flowing by ripening produce. French, H. A. Story of the strawberry : berry culture in Sacramento County
