Southern Pacific Railroad Bridge over the Sacramento River in 1894. The S.P. terminal is to the right of the bridge and a solitary craft takes advantage of the waterway below. This is the second Southern Pacific bridge over the Sacramento River and the third bridge erected at or near that point. This bridge washed out later and a new bridge was built farther down the river, this latter bridge removed after the present steel bridge was erected. Pedestrians used one side, vehicles the other, and trains the center. This shot was snapped from the Yolo side looking east.
