The ANNUAL STATISTICAL REPORT FOR SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA - FISCAL YEAR 1924-1925 is a wealth of information and photos. The caption for this photo indicates that the reinforced concrete bridge across the American River at Folsom was a replacement for the old steel bridge seen in the background. Known locally for years as the "Rainbow Bridge" this beauty was joined by another newer structure in 2000 to accomodate the heavy traffic flowing in and out of the once quaint and quiet town. The "old steel bridge" was dismantled and put to use in another county for many years until it was brought back to Folsom where it now serves bicyclists and pedestrians.
